Abstract
The idea of inquiry into learning process is associated with the name of J. Dewey, which is based on the productive
activity of students in solving problems. The idea of founding learning formulated by him is focused on the direct experience
and interest of students. The main characteristics of inquiry-based learning/teaching compared to traditional teaching are
determined by the change in the student's position in the learning process, his proactive, subjective character, from which, the
conditions for inquiry-based learning activities emerge. The article analyzes theoretical approaches to the implementation of
inquiry-based learning models in practice and outlines the requirements that the content and learning process of teaching
inquiry models must meet. Methodological recommendations for inquiry-based learning are formulated. Keywords: learning,
