Challenges and Prospects for the Development of Teachers’ Computer Competence in Schools

Abstract
The article explores the challenges and perspectives of developing teachers’ computer competence in schools. The aim
of the study is to identify the factors influencing teachers’ low use of information technologies and to propose ways to enhance
their skills. The research is based on document analysis and a small survey among teachers. The results show that the main
barriers are related to technical, motivational, and institutional issues. The paper concludes that schools need to organize
practical training, peer mentoring, and motivation programs to improve teachers’ digital competence and enhance the quality
of teaching.
