Abstract
Modern teaching methods and approaches used with Azerbaijani students aim to improve the quality of teaching and
learning, develop students’ cognitive, critical, and creative skills, and deepen their knowledge of the Georgian language and
literature. Raising interest and motivation toward the Georgian language among Azerbaijani students, overcoming language
barriers, and promoting social integration are among the most important issues. School education is the fundamental basis of
literacy; therefore, it should be results-oriented. Azerbaijani students mainly encounter the state language within the learning
process. For this reason, the effective teaching of the Georgian language and literature requires the use of new, rational methods
and strategies. Observation and analysis of teaching outcomes have shown that the use of diverse methods and strategies
contributes to the development of students’ thinking skills, their active engagement in the learning process, the promotion of
the Georgian language, and the achievement of national educational goals. This issue is practically applicable and accessible for
teachers in the process of subject instruction.
